I persist in thinking that both sides of the Batushka feud produce good, but overrated, music. They have never produced something that approaches excellence in black metal, including the first album. This third effort by Ortus is what I wanted Batushka to sound like. The drums, production, and vocals are perfect. The haunting and majestic atmosphere is that found in the best offerings from Batushka et al., but simply done better. An underrated gem.

I've been listening to black metal for almost two decades and I've yet to hear something quite like this. A mixture of black metal with vaporwave and ambient should not work this well and yet Winterquilt does it to perfection. Extremely engaging and soothing atmosphere that's easy to get lost in. Do you wanna dance to glitchy beats while also wearing corpsepaint in a snow covered forest? This is the album for you.
